Message from the CEO
Thank you very much for visiting our website.
The year 2025 was a year in which the entire world was at the mercy of the words and actions of the US president. It was also a year of unsettling uncertainty, with indescribable anxiety, even among the countries involved, including US.
And while we would like to hope that 2026 will be a year full of hope, it looks like the global situation will become increasingly chaotic.
Everyone thought that the world would return to normal after the dreaded coronavirus pandemic, but that did not.
The ideal and environment of “one world,” fostered by the freedom and democracy that humanity first enjoyed after two world wars and the subsequent 40-plus years of the Cold War, has given way to an era in which the pursuit of national interests is tolerated due to the nationalism of countries claiming hegemony.
The WTO, a symbol of the liberal economy established in 1995, is also losing its function. We are once again in the new Cold War era, and even the possibility of World War III is being predicted. The free movement of people and goods is being restricted, and the environment in which goods flow freely from around the world to wherever consumption is occurring is ending.
It is becoming difficult to continue the era in which everything flows in abundantly and necessary supplies can be obtained under conditions based on economic rationality.
We must remember the “stable supply” of goods that has been all but forgotten in the 80 years since the end of World War II, except for a brief period. While this cannot be discussed in the same breath as last year’s rice riots and the beer shortage caused by Asahi’s system failure, we must once again reflect on the consequences of shortages of “goods.”
It is also said that the probability of a major earthquake will hit the capital within the next 30 years is 80%. So, we must recognize that the time has come to consider how to “continue to provide a stable supply” of economically viable products as a key issue in crisis management.
From this perspective, we are working to improve our product accumulation and distribution capabilities by closely examining our suppliers, strengthening information exchange, and building a logistics infrastructure, and we are determined to make a concerted effort as a supplier that can contribute to the further prosperity and development of our customers.
